Portrait

So daniaelle decided to draw me with my bed head hair and all my other bad features. surprisingly looks a lot like me. She also likes to put me in the dress that all the girls in my senior year book wear. She loves me.

and we're back...

Things that have happened since we last posted:

I learned to use a kitchen timer.
Trevor is a 5-star drummer and has killed numerous alien things.
We both have BFA's now! (wow. that was easy.)
We are job-less, but hopeful. Things are coming along and we are working hard.
We discovered the best dates cost $2.73.
We had the 'Day of One Thousand Besos' and cheated.
...

More things have happened but I can' t think of any more because Trevor is, like I said, a 5-star drummer. Day and night. The sweetheart that he is, he drummed softer when I was stuck sick in bed.

Here we are hanging my work on my wall at the Grad Show. Thank you Trevor for helping me hang and move that one thing .125" over. It mattered.

First ever Art Center married couple graduating together! So cute!

Graduation Day! woohoo!

Trevor with Amanda. Adorable.

Trevor is quickly becoming one of the best food photographers I know. Lemon Ginger Mahi Mahi Salad. Delicious. Lifestyle change!

love you trevs. xoxo.

We have a guitarist!

After many weeks searching through the thick jungles of LA, we have found a guitarist.
Jeff Miles will be wowing guests by playing Metallica covers, from the kill 'em all album of course. Well maybe there won't be any Metallica but it will be nice. check out his website

Everything with the wedding is coming together nicely. Finals are a whole other story.

bridal shower

The bridal shower was so amazing - thank you, Audrey!! My maid of honor/sister did it all. I can't believe how much time and effort she put into everything. It was so much more than I imagined. I will be sure to employ her party-planning skills in the future. (haha... she can hide them no longer!)
Thank you all who came! And thank you for all the gifts.
I don't have any pictures yet. I will get them soon. :)

We had the best Valentine's Day ever (so far). I took Trevor up to the mountains and we had a picnic in the snow with yummy hot chocolate and hot soup. It was awesome!I had two left-hand gloves... a definite snowball throwing handicap. But I still got Trevor so bad he ran into the car to hide. (You see, sometimes snow packs together in large clumps and you can pick it up with two hands and throw it rather far...)

Tomorrow I'm off to see the baker again to finalize the cake order. I wish the baker would come to me...

i love you post-it wall

Our invites have been sent. The wedding is coming up so fast - I can't believe it! The way this term is scheduled (for both Trevor and me) the weeks seem to be flying by.
Plans for the wedding are all coming together now. There are less and less things to do. Here is a picture of our lovely weekly planner. (so sophisticated!)

The weeks go according to our school schedule. Week 3 is gone now... but it's still up because I haven't had my dress hemmed yet!
It is so satisfying taking the Post-its off the wall, especially when it's the whole week at once!

more food please.

Yesterday we decided on our caterer: La Casa Garcia. The food was amazing! The caterer served us huge servings of everything and we ate it all. He even offered to bring out more food! We decided to stop eating while we were still able to walk. :)

Here we are with Frank and mom. (...and the Quaker Oats guy)

Making invites!

We got together with my brother and his wife, my sister, and my mom to make invites. I censored the invites (to be funny) to not give to much away.

I must say that the invites turned out amazing. They were designed by Daniaelle, with a few suggestions by me.

Thanks to everyone who helped putting the invitations together (including Olivia). Thanks mom for the delicious chicken and dumplings, strawberry lemonade, and homemade cookies. What a night!

Please no more cake.

We ate way to much cake today... I never thought I would ever say that. Together with Daniaelle's mom (and Brenia and The Bird at the second bakery fyi) we tasted cake at Beverly's Best and Colette's bakery. We think Bev's Best is the winner! I liked the chocolate but D didn't so much. If I knew chocolate cake wasn't her favorite we wouldn't be... uh, never mind. (she's sitting right next to me shhhh)

Holy guacamole we bought rings today! Oh boy. Rings. Like WEDDING bands. Rings. wow.

Coronadooooo!

We spent this past Friday hanging out at the Hotel Del Coronado (or the "del" for all you cool people) and San Diego. We ran around the hotel and beach and then watched the sunset. Since all I have is wedding on the brain lately, I couldn't resist the chance to ask some girl where she got her shoes, which would go perfectly with my bridesmaid dresses. The girl didn't speak English, but understood enough to take her shoe off to show me the brand name. So nice!
After Coronado we headed into San Diego for a delicious pizza dinner and some "cute face" time at Starbucks.

Brain-0-scan-0-ray-monsters

I just found out about FMRIs from the last 60 minutes. WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?! Thought identification!? Having our brains tell them what we like and how to sell it to us? I decided I had to protect me and my fiancee from, what I like to call, Brain-o-scan-o-ray-monsters.

Oh, and we did a tasting at the Country Garden Caterers with Daniaelle's mom Sabrenia.

FOOOD!

I feel really spoiled right now. We met up with Aaron Spurgeon (http://spurjworks.blogspot.com/) and his wife Lydia tonight. Aaron is doing us a huge favor and photographing our wedding! Not only did we get to see Aaron’s photography portfolio today but Lydia also made us an amazing meal. Lasagna (not that frozen stuff you’re making at home but the real deal), Cornish game hen, asparagus, and a salad. She wasn’t joking around. That salad had delicious nuts and other goodies in it. Did I mention dessert? A tort with nuts and berries and vanilla ice cream. Heaven.

Happy New Year!

Trevor and I met with our officiant, Gary Musgrave, the other day. Gary is a good friend of ours from school. We talked about our wedding ceremony, over delicious food at Russell's.

invites

Good news! We’ve figured out what our invites are going to look like. We also bought all the paper/envelopes we are going to need to make them. That’s a relief. Daniaelle doesn’t want me to put any pictures of anything relating to the invites (green). Surprises are fun.

Yesterday we took a break from wedding planning and ran around Los Angeles.

We found a great artist we’ve never heard of at the craft and folk art museum. http://www.cafam.org/. You all should check out Josh Dorman http://www.joshdorman.net/index.html

The next highlight of the day was dinner at Canters Deli. http://www.cantersdeli.com/
We ate there because we were in the mood for some food we’ve never tried before. I ate a sandwich with tongue in it.My favorite was the matzah ball soup, no wait… my favorite was all the cookies we got from their bakery after dinner. We are already planning our trip back.

As for today, I’m working the honeymoon. Thanks to Karrie Smith a friend who is an ex travel agent the honeymoon planning is going smoothly. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to visit on our way home from Oregon? So far I have Mendocino, Redwoods National Park, San Francisco, Winchester Mystery House, Hearst Castle, Madonna Inn, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara.

We registered at Macy's today and met with the most helpful registry assistant ever, Elke Rainwater. (what an awesome name) So excited for the china and silverware we picked out! We had our pretend place setting set up on Elke's desk to see which setting combo we liked best. We had the chance to use our big Art Center words to describe why we liked what we liked... maybe that's why it never feels like break, design is everywhere man.
Me and honeycakes took a break from registering for dinner and the girl at the counter gave Trevor a FREE cookie. Trevor wanted a peanut butter one, but the girl told him that he didn't and that he was going to get chocolate chip.

Registering and Invites

Today was a lot of fun. We ran around target scanning items for our gift registry. And mulled over papers at the Paper Source and Kelly's Paper. Wedding invite paper is serious business. Both being artist helps a lot when it comes to making our wedding invite. At the same time it doesn't help at all because we can be very picky.
